Sam Dunn to Speak at Noctis Metal Music Conference 2010
by Admin on Sep.03, 2010, under Headbanger's Journey DVD Tour
Just stumbled across this and well done to the marketing team over at the conference for exploiting social media and Facebook ads. It looks like Sam will be attending the Noctis Metal Music Conference to be held in Calgary, Alberta on September 24 of this year.

Noctis IV Metal Fest and Conference - Sept 23, 24 2010 Calgary, Alberta
The conference is part of the Metal Fest which is in it’s 4th incarnation and this year will feature a headlining act by Germany’s thrash metal hero’s SODOM. Geez I remember mostly Persecution Mania but I’m sure there was some scratchy, shitty cassete bootleg of Obsessed by Cruelty somewhere. Rather than rehash a bunch of info already spashed across the event pages I’ll just direct you to the pertinent Metal Info.

What’s up in Banger Town? Metal Evolution Full Steam Ahead
by Admin on Aug.27, 2010, under Banger Films, Metal Evolution
Honestly I can’t really say. It’s been balls out travelling and interviews for Metal Evolution ever since the Rush release and Traverse City screenings. I’m sure (given the handful of you that might stumble across this post) some of you may have bumped into some of the Banger crew around the globe. It would be great to have some more interaction here. Tell us where you may have been when you caught a glimpse of the ever elusive Mr Dunn, or Mr Mcfadyen. Perhaps you ran into señor Hawkes or Madamme Mauro
. A few places where you have have caught wind of the team might have been New York, Toronto, Germany, France, Slovenia, Norway and a shitload of other countries on route. That’s just in the last couple months… It is simply mind numbing how much traveling these guys do and how hard the whole team works.
Okay back to Rush, I don’t give these guys nearly enough props but the folks over at Rush is a Band do remarkable work. Their research and sometimes ‘early news’ is not found anywhere else online.
This funny ‘Rush fan VS Kiss fan‘ post with some hilarious fan quotes drifted through my news filter. Some of us humans are quite emotionally charged about certain music personalities hey..
Banger Films and Tricon Team up for International Distribution of Rush Beyond the Lighted Stage
by Admin on Aug.05, 2010, under Headbanger's Journey DVD Tour
Okay that is a bit of a long title but it communicates the topic succinctly. If you’ve been paying attention to any Rush related news feeds recently, you’ll have seen that there was a flurry of traffic for this story starting on Tuesday. This is fantastic news for the Banger Films team and Rush who will see their film distributed across a much broader geographical range.
The Toronto based film production, distribution and consulting company Tricon, is also on the hook to distribute the Metal Evolution series which is currently in production at various spots around the Metal Globe.
Here is a piece from www.channelcanada.com
Tricon Films & Television, one of North America’s strongest independent production and distribution companies, is proud to be working with award-winning production company Banger Films. With this new relationship, Tricon has acquired the international television rights to the recently theatrically released documentary RUSH: BEYOND THE LIGHTED STAGE, which chronicles the legendary band over the past 40 years. Tricon is also set to distribute METAL EVOLUTION: THE SERIES (8 X 60), which is slated for the spring of 2011 on VH1 Classics. “Banger Films founders Scot McFayden and Sam Dunn bring a wealth of talent, creativity and heart to their projects,” said Andrea Gorfolova, President of Tricon Films & Television. “Tricon is thrilled to be joining creative forces and distributing their products with the same passion and dedication.”
Several sites have featured the story as it broke and they are listed them below as they appeared in the news feed. You could call them the winners of the Break the News race.
Those are naturally a rehash of the original press release but it also demonstrates that they have done well to present their content in a way which Google is easily able to send to their news feeds.
